Cranial Nerve X | In Progress
This illustration weaves the vagus nerve, the triune brain, and the seven chakras into a single visual system that maps the body’s pathways of survival and connection. The central figure embodies ventral vagal regulation, while the surrounding birds trace patterns of fight, flight, freeze, and fawn. Natural motifs—migrating geese, railroad tracks, and cemetery stones—symbolize renewal, disruption, and loss within the broader landscape of the nervous system. Together, the imagery reflects how human physiology, emotion, and experience intertwine in cycles of overwhelm and return. This version can be purchased as a fine art print in our shop!
Autumn Fractals | 2025
“Autumn Fractals” captures the feel of fall through a palette pulled from real autumn leaves and imagery drawn from the season itself—caterpillars preparing for transformation, butterflies departing, and trees releasing what they no longer need. The piece reflects the fractal intelligence woven through nature: leaves that mirror trees, veins that resemble rivers, rivers that echo the nervous system, and patterns that repeat all the way up to the cosmic web. It’s an invitation to notice how nature’s shapes, cycles, and structures reappear in every direction—in the landscape, in the body, and in the quiet design of the world. You Matter | 2025
“You Matter” is more than a phrase—it’s a truth. It’s not just encouragement, but a reflection of reality: each of us is made of matter and energy still rippling outward from the Big Bang. We’re not separate from the universe—we’re expressions of it. This piece is a reminder that the same energy that forms stars, rivers, roots, insects, animals, and people is one continuous force taking countless shapes. We are not small parts of something vast; we are necessary parts of something whole. Like waves in the ocean, notes in a song, or cells in a body, we are distinct yet inseparable—interconnected and ever-changing, transmutable constellations of matter and energy. We all matter. Always have. Always will. This can be purchased as a fine art print in our shop!
Smile + Wave | 2025
This illustration is about what it means to live as part of something larger—to feel ourselves move through life not as fixed beings, but as waves in motion. Each wave is unique, shaped by conditions we didn’t choose, moving across space and time, cresting, dissolving, and returning to the indivisible ocean we never truly left. That rhythm—rising and releasing—is the rhythm of existence itself. We appear, we change, we pass on. There are beginnings, middles, and endings. And through it all, everything is always changing, yet nothing is ever truly lost. This piece invites that kind of presence. It reminds us that we are not just in the ocean—we are the ocean, briefly expressed in form. The wave is real, and so is its return. Motion is not separation; it is the path back to wholeness. This can be purchased as a fine art print in our shop!
Safety, Skills, Synergy (S3) | 2024
This illustration reflects what I’ve learned as part of the ABC's of Building Better Lives community over the past three years: that healing emerges from the interplay of safety, skills, and synergy. A turtle at the top holds the world of the image—a nod to Turtle Island and the steady foundation of history, community, and care. At the center, the heart represents safety; the bike symbolizes balance, with one wheel showing my therapist and me building tools together and the other showing me using them on my own. The chessboard appears as a quiet metaphor for strategy, perspective, and thoughtful progression. Every figure and symbol honors the unique energy of the ABCs staff who shaped this chapter of my life, intertwined with my own. S-Cubed is ultimately about growth—held, witnessed, and created through connection. This can be purchased as a fine art print in our shop!
Triangles of Transformation | 2024
This was my first drawing in over a decade—a turning point in therapy and in life. At its center is the triangle: Fear → Ego → Love. Fear is primal; ego rises to protect; love is what heals, integrates, and reconnects us to what matters most. Around that core, everything transforms: matter becomes form, form becomes energy, and energy returns to matter—waves into whales, whales into trees, trees into origami birds, into pencils, into mountains. Living and non-living shapes flow into one another, reflecting the truth that nothing is ever truly separate. That sense of separation is a trick of perception, hinted at through subtle optical illusions woven throughout the piece. Our senses register only a fraction of what’s real, and difficulty perceiving something does not mean it isn’t there. This drawing is a meditation on oneness, transformation, and return—a reflection of what brings me joy and purpose, and a quiet reminder of how short and sacred even a full life truly is. This can be purchased as a fine art print in our shop!
betru2u | 2025
This illustration is a celebration of self-authenticity—not just being true to who we are today, but remembering who we’ve always been underneath everything we’ve adapted to. Before survival strategies, before conditioning, before trauma. That original self is still intact: curious, compassionate, courageous, clear, connected, creative, calm, and safe. The songbird at the center holds that memory. Surrounded by hearts, music, and rainbows, it represents the voice within each of us—the part that longs to sing, to express, to be seen and to belong. Therapy helps us rediscover that voice, aligning thoughts, words, and actions with the self that feels whole and free. “Be Tru 2 U” isn’t just a motto—it’s a practice. A way of moving through the world with integrity and self-respect. A reminder that our voice matters, and that returning to our truest self is not a risk, but a homecoming.
